TFM Control Key Layered Commands

TFM Control Key layered commands:

The following subsections list all of the default assigned commands within Talking Flight Monitor’s TFM Command layer. Press the TFM Control prior to hitting any of these keyboard commands. These commands are global and will work even if TFM is not the currently focused window. If ctrl (control), shift, or alt are listed, press these keys in combination with the specified letters to invoke the specified action.

Instrument and Autopilot readings:

A Output Aircraft’s current altitude (ASL)
Shift+A output aircraft’s autopilot target altitude (ASL)
G Output aircraft’s current Above Ground Level (AGL)
S Output aircraft’s current indicated airspeed (IAS, in KTS)
T output aircraft’s current true air speed (in KTS)
U output aircraft’s current ground speed (in KTS)
Shift+s output aircraft autopilot’s target indicated airspeed
M Output Aircraft’s Mach number
H Output aircraft’s current heading

Miscellaneous commands:

Command Description
Ctrl+F Opens the left FMC window as a popout window and makes this the actively focussed window
Ctrl+M Opens the MCP window as a popout window and makes this the actively focussed window
Ctrl+P Opens the aircraft panels as a popout window and makes this the actively focussed window
C show location (if at an airport, outputs current aircraft’s location on the field,, otherwise outputs closest city or current body of water flying over)
I Output current winds (in KTS)
D Distance to destination airport (in Nautical miles)
Shift+D Output Distance to descent (in Nautical miles)
W Announce aircraft in-bound waypoint, (Requires a flight plan to be loaded through the simulator to work propperly)
Control+t Toggle on/off auto announcement of changes in Aircraft trim
Shift+T announce current trim
R Announce current sim rate
Shift+R Output aircraft landing rate in Feet Per minute
Ctrl+r Toggle Runway Guidance on/off
1 through 0 fuel tank quantity (in KGs or LBs)
Ctrl+1 through 4 engine n1 and n2 value
Shift+1 through 4 engine thrust, in percentage and LBs
/ (slash) Announce speed brake position
F10 Announce current local time based on the aircraft’s current location

Line Select Key Commands

Depending on how you have the line select mode set, press either ctrl and the numbers 1 through 6to activate the left line select keys, and Alt+1 through 6 for the right. The alternative mode uses function keys F1 through F12, with F1 through F6 as the left side, and F7 through F12 as the right side. To switch between modes, use the keyboard command Ctrl+l.

PFD Commands

The following commands can be used to jump to various sections of the PFD (Primary Flight Display) when it has focus.

Miscellaneous Commands

Some of these commands can be used on multiple screens such as the runways, gates, and TCAS windows.

Table Sorting Commands

While in the runways, gates, and TCAS windows, the following commands will allow the user to sort the table by specified columns and rows. The TFM key, by default right bracket, does not need to be pressed to invoke the specified action.

Command Description
A sort the focused column in ascending order
D sort the focused column in descending order
L move the focused column left
R move the focused column right

Note: After applying a sort to a column, that sort will remain for all subsequent table lists, including airport changes.

Runway commands

While in the runways window of TFM, the following commands can be used. The TFM key, by default right bracket, does not need to be pressed to invoke the specified action.

Command Description
Ctrl+D When focus is on the destination (landing) runway, this command can be used to set the destination so TFM can give propper glideslope and localizer information regarding the runway.
F6 Using this command anywhere in the runways window will move one’s focus to the list of available runways. If no runways are available, TFM will alert the user and announces no runways to display.

PMDG Boeing 737 Altimeter Operation

The PMDG 737's altimeter control simulates the adjustment of the altimeter using the dial. To access this control, with the PMDG 737 aircraft loaded, access the Efis pannel within the aircraft pannels. Use the following commands within the Efis pannel to control the altimeter.

Command Description
Alt+M Switch between HPA and inches. The mode button displays the current mode (HPA or inches).
Alt+S Switch between Standard and previously set setting.
Ctrl+U When focussed on the display field, increase the set setting.
Ctrl+D When focussed on the display field, decrease the set setting.
